Nigeria's U-20 women's team Falconets on Saturday, January 13 defeated their South African counterparts 2-0, which puts them in a strong position to qualify for the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup.

The Falconets put in a brilliant performance away from home. Two goals in the space of seven minutes broke the South Africans resistance.
The Falconets took the lead in at the half hour, top scorer in the qualification series, Rashidat Ajibade beat the South African keeper from a difficult angle to put the Nigeria a goal up.
Their lead was doubled just six minutes later, Anam Imo converted after a spillage from the South African goalkeeper.
The South Africans tried to get their selves back into the game but the Nigerians held on for the win.
The result means the Falconets who have made eight appearances at the FIFA U-20 World Cup are just 90 minutes away from another appearance.
The Falconets had the previous qualification round the Falconet's breezed past Tanzania 9-0 on aggregate and subsequently a 6-2 aggregate win over Morocco.
The Falconets who are two-time silver medalists at the World Cup just need a draw in the return fixture which is scheduled for the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City on Saturday, January 27.
